Motorhome Engine Service & More on Our Crew (family)

  • Oil, Oil & Air Filters, Fluid Levels
  • Bonus: Family (TomsMaHauL Team)
Tom has all of the oil needed, oil filter, air filter, drain pan & cleanup materials needed, waiting for Tim’s arrival.

Once or twice a year (depending on how many miles that we put on the TomsMaHauL motorhome), our son,Tim, meets up with Tom to do the service on the motorhome engine. We’ve owned various types of rvs over the decades, including our previous diesel pusher. Since 2016, we’ve owned a gas engine motorcoach. We’re pleased with the Tiffin quality, and the insulation around the front Ford V10 engine is very good, as there is very little engine noise when we’re traveling.

Tom gets the 7 quarts of Motorcraft engine oil, oil filter & air filter and has it ready for Tim’s arrival at the TomsMaHauL motorhome. Within 15 minutes or so, Tim completes the work. Time is also taken to check the fluid levels for the coolant, brakes, transmission, wiper washing fluid etc. Tom keeps the engine battery clean & fluid level checked. Tim has also lubed the chassis (zerks), installed some pieces for the motorhome receiver hitch (following a Tiffin recall) & helped Tom with some of the other tasks on our rvs. Tom enjoys the time that is spent with Tim, when ever they meet up to do some rv tasks. If you have any questions about this service, email info@tomsmahaul.com . We receive comments from our website viewers, and we appreciate the time taken to reach out to us.

Tim has, also, assisted with our onboard Onan generator, when a few new spark plugs needed replacing. Otherwise, Tom does the oil, oil filter, fuel filter & other generator service work. More on our generator service Projects page HERE.

About our technician:

Photo of Tim servicing our “toad” (Jeep that we pull behind the motorhome)

Our son, Tim, is an excellent technician that has received top honors in his field. He has attended many courses in DFW, gaining various certifications. Tim has kept our family vehicles running smoothly, but has also done service on the vehicles of several friends of the family. During his high school years, Tim owned several cars and did some amazing things to those vehicles. During his young adult years, Tim dabbled in some road course racing & drifting events. Not only is Tim an excellent technician, he has attended college to learn robotics & other courses.

Tim is very good with his original music scores that he arranges & produces in his home studio. Tom has even done some voice work in one of Tim’s past home studios, as Tim engineered the sound. Some of Tim’s music arrangements are found at various places on the internet . We’re in the process of uploading more videos on TomsMaHauL on YouTube, and for some of the videos we will be using Tim’s music.
Tom has been in the radio business for 40+ years, and our sons have spent time in the radio business & appreciate great music, just as much as Tom does.

Tim has a wonderful fiance’, Missy, that is a joy to be around & is supportive of Tim. Missy is “family” to all of us.

We also recognize our son, Justin, who designed and built TomsMaHauL.com. Justin has taught us some things about the smart tvs in the coach. On our previous diesel pusher motothome, Justin helped with the replacement of the 4 deep cycle house batteries, when Tom learned (from Justin) to take a phone photo of the battery cable arrangement, so after battery installation, we knew to place the many cables, properly, on the newly installed batteries. Justin, also, labeled each cable, just to make sure.

Our daughter-in-law, Regan, is a wonderful lady & we appreciate that Regan is in our family, and is a big part of the TomsMaHauL crew. Regan has helped Tom learn more about setting up TomsMaHauL on Facebook HERE.
Our ’69 Chevelle was used as the getaway car, when we rattled Great Raft beer cans behind us through downtown Shreveport, before dropping Justin & Regan off at an undisclosed location for the night, following their wedding. Yes, we squealed the tires, when departing from the crowd that saw the newlyweds off.
