Tom’sMaHaul Shower Faucet Replacement

It’s rare that we get long periods of time of sub-freezing temperatures during the winter around here, so I don’t run rv antifreeze through my water lines. If it’s going to be that cold for a night or two, I, usually take the motorhome to a nearby RV park and plug up to power. Then, I just burn propane from the tank with the inside thermostats set at 55 and, and that heats, not only the inside, but also all of the enclosed tanks and plumbing.

In our region, we rarely get days like this. It could be like this one day, but then well above freezing the next day.

There was one night of a 24 degree low, and I told myself “It’ll be alright”. I had drained all of the tanks (black, grey & hot water). I had blown air through the plumbing lines. Before the next winter motorhome journey, I filled the fresh water tank, turned on the water pump and ran each faucet. I looked under cabinets and inspected everywhere else for any leaks. I discovered only one. The inside shower faucet. Tiffin makes it very easy to access the back of the shower faucet, with a small outside locked compartment hatch on the outside of the coach. I was able to to remove the old faucet in about 20 minutes. I took the damaged faucet to a local rv parts store that was a mile from the coach. They had just what I was looking for. The perfect match for the replacement.

It’s, likely, that I may have found the replacement faucet for a lower price if I had shopped online, but for a few dollars more, I’d rather support a locally owned business, and have the product in my hand now (when I’m in the fixing mood).
Within 20 minutes, I had replaced the freeze-damaged shower faucet. I haven’t had any leaking issues for the past few years.
