Bodcau Campground – More on The Rougarou During A Visit to The Tom Merrill Recreation Area (La)

The TomsMaHauL motorhome did some winter RVing in the woods at the Bodcau (La) Campground in the Tom Merrill Recreation Area.Our Bodcau Campground RV spot. After arriving & setting up in our camping spot, Trippin’ w/ Tom & Teri drove across the Bodcau Dam to the shooting range (very nice). We made plans to stop by the shooting range during business hours on the following day. There was very weak cell service in our camping spot, but Tom discovered that a 60 second drive to the nearby tent camping area was a good spot to get online & share, and check our messages.

Tom had to climb up on top of a tall pine tree to get a signal to post Teri’s video report from one of the hiking trails at Bodcau (La). Here’s where Tom provides the proper pronounciation of the RouxGaRoux (that’s how Tom prefers to spell it).……

The Rougarou (some say that is the proper spelling), kindly, took a photo of Trippin’ w/ Tom & Teri on one of the hiking trails at Bodcau (La).More on the legend of the Rougarou HEREThe weather was too good to pass up a mid-day visit to the shooting range in the Bodcau (La) Wildlife Management Area. Tom manages to capture a few photos of Teri with her Smith & Wesson 380 M&P Shield EZ pistol. 50 shots were fired & Teri hit the diamond (center) of the target several times & well within the target area every other time. We want to thank Jay (U.S. Marine veteran & soon-to-be proud father of a baby boy) for sharing his shooting tips.It was a cold Saturday morning on Bayou Bodcau (La), after the overnight low was 26 degrees. Nice & warm in the TomsMaHauL.com motorhome. Teri said “Is chicken & Down Home sausage gumbo okay for breakfast?”. Tom’s reply was “You dang sho nuff got dat right!”. When Teri makes gumbo, we only use our favorite green onion flavored sausages from Down Home Meats.
